The above server is a great starting point, but in reality we would need to improve on a few areas to make it suitable for use with Microsoft Windows 2003 Small Business Server. How far you go is up to you, but we have included some upgrades which will bring it in line with what we consider to be a good working solution.
RAID Drive configurations
As this server has a built in SATA RAID interface, it means that we can provide a RAID 1, drive mirroring at the hardware level. In other words, we can add an additional hard drive which will "mirror" the working drive. In the eventuallity that the server hard drive fails, the mirror unit maintains operations. We then replace the faulty unit and re build the "mirror".
Sounds technical, but it simply means that if one of the drives fails, your server keeps on working until we can replace it. Without it, your server stops working, and all of your data is lost.
